Our plan is to complete a multi-day expedition exploring the area of Sognefjord, and the smaller Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is flanked by towering mountains and home to seals, porpoises and rare sea eagles. You will experience incredible sites such as the Lægdafossen waterfall, which tumbles down sheer sides cliffs straight into the sea. Wild camping as we go, this location allows us to explore and enjoy the very best parts of the Norwegian fjords, and enjoy a multi-day expedition which allows us to truly explore this superb landscape.

Our role is to support you by providing experience based oversight, expert guidance and local knowledge. All guiding is done in a way which supports you to enjoy the trip as much as possible, whilst involving you in our decision making, planning and safety management.

Outline Itinerary

About Songenfjord
Sognefjord is the longest and deepest fjord in Norway, located in the western part of the country in the country of Vestland. It is often known as the "King of the Fjords," stretching 205 kilometers inland from near Bergen.

The fjord gives its name to the surrounding district of Sogn - the name is related to Norwegian word súg- "to suck", relating to the surge the tidal currents at the mouth of the fjord.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage site with its arm, Nærøyfjord, offering some of the world's most outstanding scenery, as well as charming villages like Balestrand and Flåm, as well as rich history and views of Europe's largest mainland glacier, Jostedalsbreen.

Sea kayaking in the Sognefjord is a serene, visually stunning experience, offering unparalleled access to majestic mountains, waterfalls, and unique wildlife. With superb wild camping spots, right by the waters edge, this is one of the finest locations to enjoy as an improver paddler.
