Anglesey Circumnavigation

A Sea Kayak Expedition Around the Isle of Anglesey

Join us for a bucket-list sea kayaking circumnavigation of the Isle of Anglesey. Across 120km of wild and varied coastline, we journey together beneath dramatic sea cliffs, explore sweeping bays and hidden coves, and take in views across to the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia).
Rich in wildlife and shaped by ever-changing light and sea conditions, this is a supported expedition where the journey unfolds as a team - best experienced from the water.

What to expect

This is a true sea kayaking journey around one of the UK’s most varied coastlines. We travel as a team, balancing steady progress with time to explore, land, and enjoy each day as it unfolds.

Wild camping along the way keeps us close to the coastline, giving us space to properly experience each place rather than simply pass through.

Each day is shaped by the conditions. With experienced guides and strong local knowledge, we make decisions together using weather and tidal forecasts to plan the most enjoyable and efficient route around the island. In doing so, you’ll naturally build confidence in reading the sea, understanding the environment, and taking part in the decision-making process as the journey develops.

Anglesey’s coastline ensures constant variety. From the dramatic cliffs and seabird colonies of South Stack and Puffin Island to the gentler southern and western shores, the island is always changing character as we work our way around it. Much of the coastline lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with regular views across the Menai Strait and towards Eryri.

Outline Itinerary

Day 1

We meet centrally on the island for a relaxed briefing and breakfast, then choose the best launch point based on conditions. Together with your guides, we make final decisions before beginning the journey around Anglesey.

From here, the expedition unfolds with the weather and tides, as we make steady progress and wild camp along the coastline.

Days 2–4

Each day is shaped by conditions, with decisions made as a team to find the most enjoyable and efficient route.

We work our way around Anglesey’s varied coastline, adjusting plans as needed and taking time to explore, travel, and wild camp along the way.

Some days will feel steady and exploratory, others more focused and committing, but there is always time to experience the coastline properly and travel together as a group.

Where possible, you can choose to make use of local facilities such as shops and toilets along the route.

Day 5

We aim to complete the circumnavigation by mid-afternoon, allowing time to finish together on the water and travel home.

Final timing always depends on conditions.

This itinerary is a guide only and will naturally change with the weather and sea conditions.
