Incident Management, Safety & Rescue

For sea kayakers and leaders looking to build confidence in incident prevention, rescue skills and decision-making under pressure

Develop the practical skills, judgement and confidence needed to prevent incidents, respond effectively when things go wrong and support others in the coastal environment.

Based in Anglesey, North Wales, this practical two-day course uses realistic, scenario-based learning to develop rescue skills, incident management and decision-making in a variety of sea kayaking environments. Working both on and off the water, you'll gain experience applying rescue techniques and managing situations that sea kayakers and leaders may encounter during journeys.

Throughout the course, we'll focus on preventing incidents wherever possible, recognising developing situations early and responding effectively when intervention is required.

This course can be taken as a standalone development opportunity or combined with our Sea Kayak Leader or Advanced Sea Kayak Leader training programmes to create a comprehensive leadership development package.
