Sea Kayak Skills Week

Build confidence, develop core skills and gain the knowledge needed for safe and enjoyable sea kayak journeys.

Based in Anglesey, one of the UK's premier sea kayaking destinations, this five-day course provides a practical introduction to sea kayaking in a variety of coastal environments. Using sheltered bays, tidal waters and suitable conditions for the group, we'll help you develop the skills, judgement and confidence needed to enjoy rewarding days on the sea.

Throughout the week, you'll build a strong foundation in sea kayaking, developing paddling skills, environmental awareness and decision-making while gaining experience in both tidal and non-tidal environments.

Turning, manoeuvring and moving sideways

Rescue skills and assisted rescues

Planning simple sea kayak journeys

Paddling in winds up to Force 3 and tides up to 1 knot

Who It's For
This course is ideal for paddlers with some basic kayaking experience who are new to sea kayaking, as well as those looking to build a stronger foundation in the coastal environment.
Paddle UK Sea Kayak Award
For paddlers wishing to gain certification, the course can include assessment for the Paddle UK Sea Kayak Award, certificated by the British Canoeing Awarding Body.
